The No0t Effect

2025

During my third year studying game design, my classmates and I created a video game using Unreal Engine in 4 months in collaboration with Cyber Campus in France. Cyber Campus is a facility set up by the French government that brings together the main national and international players in the field of cybersecurity. We had two representatives from the cyber campus who came regularly to check on the progress of the project, which we presented to them through various milestones. The aim of the game is to introduce cybersecurity to a very wide audience. The game will be presented at Paris Games Week 2025, which will be held at the end of October.

Pitch :

In a Solarpunk universe, play as Cicely, a seasoned engineer accompanied by her little robot No0t. Discover the source of your city’s energy problems and fix them to help your neighbors and your mechanical companion, who unfortunately can no longer recharge.

Intentions :

  • Show a future that is more welcoming than dystopian.
  • Highlight renewable energies (Cyber Campus partners).
  • Game suitable for all ages and fairly calm in order to focus on awareness issues.
  • Highlight the butterfly effect principle resulting from computer hacking (link to cybersecurity).
  • Highlight mutual aid rather than crime.

My work :

  • I coded the entire game.
  • Narrative & Quest Design (I took care of adding the cybersecurity part to the game.)
  • Level Design
  • Unreale engine integration
  • A few 3D models

Have a look on the gameplay !

personal additions

I imagined, modeled, and animated a field of solarpunk turnips for M4rk, the turnip seller.

I animated the tail of a cat modeled by one of my game artists, then I coded a system where the cat teleports and changes location after the end of a day.

I modeled and animated a cart carrying flour for the baker to fill the baker’s area.

Using photogrammetry, we scanned ourselves to be included in our game as Easter eggs. We appear as 10 statues(one for each developer), which adds a secondary objective to the game.

Try the game ! (play with controller)

Personal projects

2024-2025

Simon House

For a first project on the godot engine software, I wanted to make an arduino communicate with the software.

I connected to the arduino a buzzer that I modified to solder RGB leds. Then I wanted to make a game using this new peripheral by making a one button game and I gave the character in the game a flashlight making the peripheral diegetic to the game.

At the start of the game, the buzzer gives a series of colors that you have to remember, and then redo correctly to eliminate the enemies that appear. The buzzer changes color on its own, and the player has to click on it to stop the color change and turn on the flashlight in the game.

Mhuyo trend on twitter

I followed a trend on twitter started by the artist Mhuyo and made a little video game that was a small success with his community.

(Made on Unreal Engine)

Gatling tower

Take your place in a wagon armed with a machine gun to defend your village from invaders from underground.

Buy new wagons and arm them!

(Made on Unity)

Nighthawks - Edward Hopper

I wanted to recreate a well-known Edward Hopper painting in a 3D environment, enlarging the boundaries of the terrain a little in Hopper’s style. I created this small space in Valve’s Hammer engine, the source engine, because I felt that the look and feel of Half Life 2 reflected Hopper’s paintings.

PUBG Mobile

2025

During a week-long event organized by Tencent, I had to create a PVP map on PUBG Mobile.

I decided to lock up 8 players separated into 2 teams, each of which would have a weapon kit defined according to where it would randomly appear between each round (1 shotgun class, 1 sniper class and 2 assault riffle class).

Name of the map : 4v4 Sniper VS AR VS Shotgun

Objectives :

  •  Create a fun, easy-to-learn mode
  • To avoid frustrating players

Intentions :

  •  fast, fun handle
  •  promotes personal skills
  •  favour players who know several weapons

Type of gameplay :

  • Randomly selected weapon kit
  • 1 life / player / round
  • Carry or support your team depending on the weapon you get
  • Quick round, can leave and rejoin the game without consequence

Layout and finished map

HALO Infinite

2024

A classmate and I had to make a map for the competitive game « Halo infinite » in the capture the flag (or CTF) mode.
We had to start by making a physical model and plans to then use the game’s map editor: Halo forge.

Name of the map : Neighbour’s day on rooftop

Plan and model

finished map

I also created a script with a node graph linked to a crate that, when you hover over it, gives you a random weapon and then disappears for a certain amount of time.

Crate level 1 (in blue) gives you basic weapon and crate level 2 (in gold) gives you sniper or rocket launcher :

FMOD

2025

During a weekend, the « Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie » (France) organized a GameJam, with the objective of creating the first games for a planetarium and test them in their planetarium (one of the largest and most modern in Europe). My team and I wanted to offer an interesting visual experience for both spectators and players.

Pitch :

Take your place in a planetarium, then play the role of a missile and head for the asteroid threatening the Earth, dodging the smaller asteroids!

Intentions :

  • Quick game so everyone can play.
  • Effective visual and audio experience that pays homage to the planetarium.

  • 2 Gameplay Programers

Behind the scene

Presentation

About me

Game Design has been my passion ever since my childhood, I was unknowingly creating levels by designing adventure maps on Minecraft for my sister, and it has always been a joy.

Born to a scientist and computer engineer father and a painter and art history professor mother, I developed a natural ease with technology and an artistic sensitivity from a very young age. I visited museums before I even learned to walk and had the opportunity to travel to many countries.

I am interested in all forms of art on a personal level, which enriches my creative vision and allows me to explore innovative ideas. Today, I am greatly inspired by numerous video game creations, whether from independent studios or large companies, and I aspire to join them, with perhaps the ambition to one day lead my own team.

Note for Recruiter

I would like to apply for a position as a Level Designer or Hero Designer within the Overwatch team. Overwatch has been a key part of my journey since I got my first PC, and I have closely followed its updates, improvements, and competitive scene since 2016. My dream is to contribute, not as a player, but as a developer, to a game that has inspired me and so many others.

In the realm of video game development, game design is by far the field i am the most passionate about, and I am eager to bring my ideas, creativity, and technical skills to Blizzard. While working on Overwatch would be a dream, I would be equally honored to contribute to other teams at King or Activision. An internship within your company would be an invaluable step towards growth as a designer and to give back to the community that shaped my passion.
